How to clean the throttle?

Throttle is the most important part of the engine system of EFI vehicles. Its upper part is the air filter and its lower part is the engine block, which is the throat of the automobile engine. Whether the car accelerates flexibly is closely related to the cleaning of the throttle valve. Whether the throttle valve should be removed for cleaning is the focus of much discussion among car owners.
The throttle valve can be cleaned without disassembly, but the sealing part of the steam inlet must be cleaned. The idle motor can be cleaned only after being removed. The fuel injection nozzle has its own advantages and disadvantages. Generally, the maintenance station recommends no disassembly and cleaning to prevent other unnecessary waste, such as replacing the sealing ring or responsible for the installation of other gaskets after removal, or responsible for oil leakage during disassembly and assembly, Gas and other phenomena delay the owner’s time.
If the throttle oil sludge is too much, it may cause poor acceleration of the engine and increase fuel consumption, which is a big worry for car owners. How to deal with the dirty throttle? Just clean it. You can go to the 4S store quickly, but you don’t have to go to the 4S store every time you clean it? In fact, no, you can do it yourself, but don’t forget to initialize.
When cleaning the throttle valve, first remove the intake pipe to expose the throttle valve, remove the negative pole of the battery, turn off the ignition switch, straighten the throttle flap, spray a small amount of “carburetor cleaning agent” into the throttle valve, and then carefully scrub it with polyester rag or high-speed spinning “non-woven cloth”. In the depth of the throttle valve, you can clamp the rag with a clip and scrub it carefully.
After cleaning, according to the disassembly procedure just now, the initialization of the throttle shall be started after installation. After cleaning the throttle, initialization is necessary, because the computer has memory function when adjusting the throttle opening, because there was oil sludge blockage in the past. In order to ensure the air intake, the computer will automatically adjust the throttle opening to keep the air intake in a normal state.
After cleaning, there is no blockage of oil sludge. If the throttle remains open as before, it will cause excessive air intake. As a result, the engine shakes during startup, and the acceleration is weak, and the engine fault light may also be on.
Then why sometimes the engine can work normally without initialization after cleaning the throttle? That’s because the throttle is not too dirty. After cleaning, its intake has not changed much. However, the change of throttle after cleaning cannot be observed by naked eyes, so initialization should be done.
In fact, initialization is very simple. It can be done through a special computer, and it can also be done manually, but it is not as fast as the computer. Sometimes it will fail. It doesn’t matter if it fails. Just do it again.
There are two initialization methods according to different vehicles:
The first is to turn on the second gear of the key, that is, the gear in which the instrument indication is fully on, and then wait for 20 seconds, step on the accelerator to the end, hold it for about 10 seconds, release the accelerator, turn off the ignition switch, pull out the key, and the initialization is completed.
The second is to turn on the second gear of the key for 30 seconds, then turn off the ignition and pull out the key. It should be noted that after the two methods are completed, you have to wait for a period of time before you can try to ignite. Generally, you can wait 15-20 seconds, and then ignite to see whether the refueling is normal and whether the engine fault light is off. If it is unsuccessful at one time, do it for the second time until it is successful. Generally, you can succeed at one time, up to two times.
However, according to different cars, the restoration method is different. Some cars must be initialized through the computer. In that case, it is recommended that the owner send his car to a shop with professional equipment for cleaning.
What is the problem with the throttle?

The composition of electric throttle can be roughly divided into the following parts: throttle valve, electromagnetic driver, potentiometer, controller (some do not, directly controlled by ECU), bypass valve. Its fault characteristics are divided into two categories: hard fault and soft fault. Hard fault refers to mechanical damage, soft fault refers to dirt, imbalance, etc.
Hard fault
The resistance part of the potentiometer is sprayed with a layer of carbon film on the polyester substrate, which is actually a very low-level preparation process with low wear resistance. To put it bluntly, it’s not as good as the potentiometer we usually add! The sliding contact is composed of a row of reverse claws made of refined steel. Pay attention! It’s an anti claw! It’s just getting worse! In addition, the carbon film is not coated with any protective agent, and the falling carbon powder leads to poor contact, so it is inevitable to turn on the light! Once repaired a carbon film that was scratched and leaked, which is only 70000 kilometers. The master’s foot is also owed!
Soft fault
People are often troubled by cleaning the throttle, because the throttle opening is too low most of the time. The air flows through the throttle gap at a very high speed (tens to hundreds of meters / s), and the influence of gradually accumulated dust on the air flow exceeds the adjustment ability of the throttle.
